Dick's Sporting Goods

Horizon Properties has commissioned Strada to provide master planning, architectural, and landscape design services, as well as the programming and space planning for Dick’s Sporting Goods new corporate campus.

This extensive project – 670,000 sf, 2000 parking spaces, 110 acres – is well underway toward completion in early 2010. Mascaro is the construction manager.

DSG expressed their conceptual idea for the building as “stadium meets lodge.”  One of the ways Strada realized this concept was by integrating the woodland site into the building’s design with a waterfall that tumbles several stories down an existing ravine to a natural streambed.

An essential element of the new headquarters is Every Season Hall, a space designed for casual, impromptu interactions, much like a public space in a community. “Streets” created by the interior design encourage pedestrian flow from the Hall to the park-like exterior space. MORE

East Liberty Place

Construction is set to begin in early spring on East Liberty Place. This four-story mixed-use development is part of the ongoing effort to regenerate East Liberty as a vibrant urban neighborhood. MORE

In November, AIA Pennsylvania awarded Strada an Honor Award in Architecture for Design for Mifflin School. This is the sixth design award for the Mifflin project since its completion. MORE. 

John Martine, AIA, and Tom Price, AIA, will be presenting "Design as a Team Sport" at the AIA Wisconsin annual meeting in May. The veteran (Martine) and the rookie (Price) will discuss their reliance on each other as they use traditional and emerging design techniques to create unique and site specific architecture.

The Rivers Casino is taking shape on the North Shore. With views of the city skyline and the West End Bridge, the Rivers Casino is intended to take advantage of its stunning setting. Click here to see images of the emerging building.
