  • LandAmerica

    The 140,000 s.f. seven-story LandAmerica Center is Phase One of “The Crossroads” - a mixed-use project developed by Millcraft Industries. As of June 2007 tenants include LandAmerica's call center operation, a branch of First Federal Savings Bank and Crazy Mocha Coffee Company. Designed to be the first LEED certified building in Washington, the project sets the standards for other future area developments with the sustainable features of recycled materials, energy efficient mechanical systems, maximum use of day lighting, low V.O.C. emitting materials manufactured locally, low water usage and downtown redevelopment. more

  • AIA Pittsburgh 2007

    Strada received two AIAPittsburgh awards in October.

    Mifflin Elementary School project, a new addition woven into an Art Deco and International Modernism historic structure, was awarded an Honor Award for Design Excellence. more

    The Hermitage Town Center Plan, which created a sense of place for an anonymous suburban town, received a Certificate of Merit in Regional and Urban Design. more

  • In March, Alan J. Cuteri, AIA will lead a panel discussion and walking tour, "Pittsburgh's University District: Partnering for Campus/Neighborhood Improvement," at the SCUP mid-Atlantic conference in Pittsburgh.

    John A. Martine, AIA led an alumni group of 25 Victorian Society members on a week-long tour of Barcelona.

    Edward A. Shriver, AIA recently joined the Pittsburgh delegation of CEO for Cities, a bipartisan, nonprofit alliance of city leaders that works to promote the health of American cities. The national CEO for Cities conference will be held in Pittsburgh, May 13-14, 2008.

    In September, MIchael A. Stern, ASLA, in partnership with Mike Edwards of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, presented "Downtown Case Study: Pittsburgh" at the International Downtown Association in New York.
